About St. Barnabas Senior Services
The average client is in his or her mid-seventies, lives alone, has few friends or family members and relies on Social Security and Medicare or MediCal. St. Barnabas\\\' multi-cultural, bilingual (English, Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Armenian, Vietnamese, Japanese and Tagalog) staff serves one of the most ethnically diverse, densely populated and low-income areas in the city. Each year, St. Barnabas delivers services to approximately 3,000 seniors.According to the 2000 Census Report, 25,000 people 65 years and over are living in St. Barnabas\\\' Service Area and qualify for services. The agency engages in continuing outreach to find and assist those seniors, operating at 9 sites as well as making home visits.
